2003 web log

Just in case this information will ever be useful to someone... the following items appeared on the main page of the Actorsingers website in 2003. Note that any links on this page--even links internal to the Actorsingers website--will be obsolete and may not lead to anything useful.

December 31 Our Semiannual Meeting will take place on Friday, January 16 (social time at 6:30 pm, business portion at 7:30 pm) at Actorsingers Hall (directions). Actorsingers members are urged to attend. Non-members are also welcome.

December 31 Deepest sympathies to Liz Ierardi and family on the loss of her father, and to John McAllister and family on the loss of his father. More information is in the obituaries.

December 29 Auditions are announced for Junior Actorsingers' spring show, How To Eat Like A Child (details here).

December 29 Rebecca Redman and Angela Olszta will present a free concert this Saturday at the Nashua Public Library. Details are here.

December 27 Our deepest sympathies to Tony Salamone on the loss of his mother who passed away yesterday. Details on the calling hours and services are in the obituary.

December 27 Boomers can use a few more men and women in the ensemble. The show plays February 27 to 29, which means that those who join now would have a six-week rehearsal schedule. Those interested in singing in these chorus positions are invited to drop in to the rehearsal at Actorsingers Hall (directions) on Sunday Jan. 4 at 4:00 pm, or to phone Lou Duhamel (producer) at 883-2432 for more information.

December 19 Audition dates for How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying are announced. See the H2$ page.

December 16 A memorial service for Mary Beth Lyon will be held on December 22nd. Details are here.

December 10 Added a news article about the world premiere of BOOMERS - Promises Made Not Kept (see the Boomers page). Here's a holiday gift idea: BOOMERS tickets are already on sale, and for a world premiere of a promising musical, the price is fantastic -- just $15 for the best seats. An especially good gift for baby boomers (those born in 1946-1964) and their families.

December 6 This world has lost a treasure. Mary Beth Lyon brightened our stage as General Matilda B. Cartwright in "Guys and Dolls", a memorable Delores Delores in "On The Town" (pictured), and in other roles; and she brightened our lives behind the scenes too with her wonderful spirit in rehearsals and backstage help. Mary Beth died unexpectedly this Thursday, December 4. We will miss her very much. (Here is the obituary; here is a better photo)

December 5 Added local accommodations info to the BOOMERS page.

January 2 Happy Hogmanay! BRIGADOON auditions are coming up in just about a month, and the show's directors want you to know that Brigadoon has got "something for everyone" -- character actors, specialty dancers, lead and chorus singers, and more. This show is a "gem of the American Musical Theater" and one that is less frequently performed by community theater groups, so our production represents a singular opportunity. Please see the plot and character summaries that the directors have compiled; they're posted here.
