She's selling the $15 seats for just $12 through December 31. Sorry, this special is available to Actorsingers MEMBERS only.

Nov 21 Pam Bruckman sends news for young singer-dancers:

ANNOUNCING THE FIRST MEETING OF THE
TEEN ACTORSINGERS SHOW CHOIR

When: December 3, 2005 from 11am to 1pm

Where: Actorsingers Hall, 219 Lake Street, Nashua

Who Can Participate: Anyone in grades 7 through 12 who loves to Sing and Dance

What Will We Be Doing? We will be auditioning everyone on December 3 to determine voice range, vocal and dance abilities. Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows off your talent (a cappella or bring your music, either way's OK). Come prepared to dance and sing. Rehearsals will follow starting on Dec 10... We plan to meet from 11-1 every Saturday at Actorsingers Hall.

Questions? Email Pam at schwartlaw@comcast.net.

Adults who want to volunteer to help with organization should email me. We also need volunteer accompanists. If you are skilled at piano and are interested, please email me as well. Hope to see you there on the 3rd.

Pam Bruckman

Nov 21 Pat Bonfanti will be offering two nights of dance workshops at Actorsingers Hall in December. Here's what she's planning:

Dance at Actorsingers on Tuesday evenings, December 6 and 13

Tap class (6:00 to 6:45, all levels welcome) emphasizing good sound technique, counting of rhythm, and, of course, some fun combinations.

Ballet/modern (6:45 to 8:00) beginning with stretching and barre work to strengthen legs, arms, center, and balance; moving to include exercises in the center of the floor as well as combos across the floor to build fluidity of movement and a variety of dance moves for memory.

Cost $5 per person per session (meaning, $10 per night if you take both tap and ballet/modern; the money goes to Actorsingers). Please sign up in advance by emailing Pat at diamond@charter.net

Nov 20 Updated CATS page; much new info from directors.

Nov 17 In memoriam
Longtime Actorsingers Life Member Betty Callahan passed away on November 15. Betty appeared onstage with Actorsingers from 1957 (Fairy chorus in Iolanthe) to 1995 (Dee Dee West in Follies). She was an enthusiastic helper behind the scenes also, and continued attending our performances faithfully well into this century. A memorial service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Nashua this Saturday at 2:00pm.

Nov 17 Our Holiday Stroll Chorus will be performing at the annual WINTER HOLIDAY STROLL on Saturday, November 26. The four-part chorus of Actorsingers and friends, under the direction of Alene Bonner, will sing a mix of seasonal songs and show tunes. The event is FREE and open to the public; performances take place in many venues in downtown Nashua from 6 to 10. Actorsingers' performance will be at 8:00 pm at Grace Fellowship Church, 43 Main Street. We hope to see many Actorsingers and friends there!

Nov 14 Our heartfelt condolences to Joy Douville ("Dorothy Brock" in our just-closed 42ND STREET) on the passing of her father Lucien Douville who died Wednesday, Nov. 9. Our sympathy goes to the Douville family, and our gratitude to Joy for her magnificent performances on stage even in her time of sadness.

Nov 14 Here's the cast and crew of a wonderful 42ND STREET:

Nov 14 42ND STREET was a smashing success, enjoyed by approximately 3000 audience members over its 5 performances. Photos will be posted in a day or so.

Oct 21 Our deepest sympathies to Betty Badeau on the unexpected death of her granddaughter Heather (Badeau) Schofield of Hollis, who died on Tuesday. The obituary and information on arrangements is here.

Oct 20 Changed location of first Stroll Chorus rehearsal on 10/24 to Court Street (see next item below)

Oct 5 For several years now, Actorsingers has been participating in the Downtown Nashua Winter Holiday Stroll. If you're interested in singing with the Actorsingers Stroll Chorus on November 26, here's the info, from Glen Grimard:

Practices will be at 14 Court Street (use main entrance, go to conference room on your right) on 10/24 from 7:00 to 9:00pm, then at Actorsingers Hall on 11/7, 11/9, 11/14, 11/16, 11/21 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with performance on 11/26 (time and location TBA). Alene Bonner is directing; she can be reached at cudagrafix@aol.com. The program has some Christmas music selections but will also feature an Andrew Lloyd Webber compilation to help spotlight the Spring production Cats. Plus "One" from A Chorus Line, "Seasons of Love" from RENT etc,. Please come out and join us, even if you're in the production of 42nd Street, (those people will be available for 4 of 6 rehearsals).

Sept 21 Posted CATS Q&A for those interested in appearing in or helping with our spring show, the regional community theater premiere of CATS.

Sept 21 This just in from Pam Bruckman:

Actorsingers needs someone to chair our participation this year in the Pheasant Lane Mall gift wrap fundraiser. Please let me know if you can volunteer a little time to organize this event. Also, we need volunteers to gift wrap. If you are interested in organizing or wrapping (please indicate which) please send an email to secretary@actorsingers.org.

Sept 16 Donna's AeroDance classes are back! Here's the info:

Come to Actorsingers Hall on Thursday night, October 20th for a dance/aerobics class to get your body in shape for CATS! Donna O'Bryant Metzger will be leading her AeroDance class from 7pm to 9pm. The theme for this class will be: RAT PACK COOL (songs from Frank, Dean, Sammy and others). Bring water & wear comfortable clothing and sneakers or jazz shoes. The cost is $5 for Actorsingers members and $8 for non-members. All proceeds will benefit the intense CATS make-up and costume budget. This is an Actorsingers sponsored event. Please come to sweat, dance, sing and have fun! Ages 15 and up. Info: email toots4884@aol.com

Sept 16 Our organization is fifty years old, and we obtained our building way back in 1976. Actorsingers Hall is a plain white building without so much as a sign to identify our group. But soon, that will change! Glen Grimard has been heading up the effort to put a big "Actorsingers" sign on our home. He reports that the Actorsingers Board recently made the final artwork selection and that the sign will be installed soon. It's expected to look something like this:

Thank you Glen!

Sept 10 Notice: Actorsingers Teen Show Choir (from the Board via corresponding secretary Pam Bruckman):

Are you a teen between the ages of 12 and 19 who loves to sing, dance and perform? Are you an adult who’d like to help a teen show choir group with choral directing, choreographing, and/or organizing? Are you a pianist looking to accompany such a group? Then let us know you’re interested. Depending on the response, we may start a teen show choir. If you are interested in being involved, send an email to secretary@actorsingers.org, with your name, email address, phone number and a brief description of how you want to be involved (teen performer, adult helper, choral director, accompanist, etc.).

Sept 1 Our "early bird special" ended yesterday, but even at the regular price of $24, an ACTORSINGERS SEASON SUBSCRIPTION is still a phenomenal entertainment value. If you're not already a subscriber, please see our Season Subscriptions Page.

Aug 24 A day of anticipation: Tonight we expect the announcement of the cast list for the Singing and Dancing Extravaganza, 42ND STREET. Auditions happened earlier this week and brought an abundance of talent... auditioning board has now the difficult task of deciding which great performers will take which roles in the show. This show will be fantastic. If you're not already a subscriber, this is the year to become one. Early Bird special ends next week ($20 for TWO shows, though 42ND STREET alone would be a steal at that price). Info is here.

Aug 23 Received this by email:

On behalf of the Teen Actorsingers, I would like to thank all those members of Actorsingers, who in spite of busy schedules, were able to attend our performance of Fame the Musical. Your show of support was greatly appreciated. I personally look forward to showing my support to the organization by volunteering my services for the upcoming Actorsingers productions.

Sincerely,
Ben Levine
Actorsinger
