Music – Auditioners are expected to prepare 16 bars of two separate songs (a total of 32 bars). We ask that one song be from a musical that debuted before 1990 (Think classics like How to Succeed, Gypsy, Into the Woods, West Side Story, Funny Girl, Carousel, etc.) and the other song be from a show that debuted after 1990 (Think modern shows like Rent, Avenue Q, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Waitress, Dear Evan Hansen, etc.). Damn Yankees is a classic show, so we want to see how your voice sounds in both a traditional and more modern Broadway setting. Please refrain from singing songs from Damn Yankees. Please bring sheet music for accompanist , or you can bring an audio clip to sing to, if you bring your own audio, we request that it be pre-cut to just the sections of music that you will be singing, so we don’t waste time, searching through a YouTube video for the correct section of music.
Acting – Auditioners are expected to prepare around a minute of a comedic monologue of their choosing. If necessary it can be read, but memorized is preferred.
