Paul Metzger (Director) No stranger to the stage, Paul has appeared in 20
productions over the years, musical and non-musical alike, and has been Fight
Director (stage combat) for several of them. Most recently, Paul appeared as one
of the muleteers in Man of LaMancha, and prior to that, reprised the role of Ernst
Ludwig ("the bad guy") in MADCO's award-winning production of Cabaret. Our
production of Jesus Christ Superstar, however, marks Paul's main stage
directorial debut.
He thanks Actorsingers for believing in his vision and taking a chance on a new director, and for
everyone who helped make this dream a reality. Specifically, thanks to Martha Daniels Holland
who was his unofficial Assistant Director on this project in addition to official Choreographer, and
to Dennis Schneider, a great mentor on all things technical. Thanks to his brother-in-law Roger
(who was also Paul's high school drama instructor) for planting the theatre bug years ago and for
his advice and support. Kudos to everyone in the cast and crew... you couldn't ask for a more
talented (and fun!) group of individuals.
But above all, thanks to his love and fiancée, Donna O'Bryant, for the never-ending support and
endless patience she showed during months of preparation and countless playings of the
soundtrack! And a super big hug to his biggest fans, his children Margaret and Matthew, and the
other special woman in his life, Donna's daughter Mallory. You guys are the best!
