Orchestration Misprints & Corrections Knowledge Repository
Webmaster's note
Actorsingers' orchestra representative to the web, Deb Walz, had a great
idea. Deb pointed out that the orchestra parts for many shows contain errors and
ambiguities. In many cases, parts that were hastily copied by hand a long time ago
continue to be passed around the country, year after year, without ever being
typeset or carefully edited. And the rental contracts generally require any markings
to be erased; this means that conscientious players have no good way to
pass on their awareness of misprints they might find. Each subsequent orchestra
has to find the errors anew. So Deb proposed...
This repository
which can be used to hold knowledge of misprints and their corrections.
We offer this as a free resource to any theater group it might help.
We'll try to keep it updated with information about shows we present
(about two per year), and we welcome submissions from your group too
(please submit contributions, or questions, to Deb.
