2004-2005 Season Announced

A very exciting season:

Program subject to availability of rights.

Update of May 13 '04: Due to the unavailability of the rights to perform CHICAGO, it was necessary to schedule a replacement show for the fall. The Actorsingers Board selected MAN OF LA MANCHA which is now scheduled for November 5 through 7, 2004.

These musicals were selected by our audience via survey. The actual survey results are here. The top vote getter was Les Miserables, but the rights to that show are not yet available to community theater companies such as Actorsingers. With Les Miz unavailable, we took the two most demanded shows that remained... Chicago and Jesus Christ Superstar... neither one of which has ever been performed by Actorsingers. This promises to be a fantastic season. If you're not already a season subscriber, now would be a great time to become one!

Actorsingers is currently accepting applications for directorial positions (Director, Music Director, Choreographer) for Jesus Christ Superstar. If you're interested in directing, please look here.

The Playreading Committee

has the job of researching and selecting musicals for the Actorsingers to perform. Its six members serve overlapping two-year terms. The committee evaluates musicals as to their suitability for our organization and makes recommendations to the Actorsingers board of directors. That board, which is elected by the membership, makes the final selections.

Note: The Actorsingers Board chose to use the results of an audience survey to select the musicals for the 2004-2005 season, and to extend the term of the playreading committee as it had been constituted for 2004-2005 so that those same committee members will make the recommendations for the 2005-2006 season.
