FEATURE STORY - Nashua Senior High School presents - Grease! ==================================================================== The senior class of Nashua Senior High School is bringing Grease! to the stage at Elm Street Junior High School on May 12 and 13 at 8 PM. Find your black leather jacket, slick back your hair, and come join the Thunderbirds and the Pink Ladies for a night of fun! Tell me more! This event is open to the entire community, and it is a good way for past, present, and future Elm-Streeters and their families to see the great things that are happening in the music department. Majestic plans for 2000: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Majestic Night 2000 On May 19 and 20 at 8 PM, Majestic Productions presents the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Majestic Night 2000. This is a musical collection of some of your favorite numbers from the past 10 years of Majestic shows, and some sharing of "behind-the-scenes" secrets. You will hear songs from Joseph, South Pacific, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and more. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a Concert Spectacular (June 1, 2, 3, 9, and 11) Mother Goose (June 23, 24, with more dates to be announced) AUDITIONS are scheduled for August 6 and 13 from 6 to 8 PM, for The Sound of Music and The Honeymoon Cruise. All ages welcome. Those under age 15 must audition on 8/6 only. The Honeymoon Cruise is a non-musical, murder mystery. Call 644-8155 for audition information. Majestic Theatre Trust Youth Company - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In recognition of the interest of young theatre-goers, The Majestic Theatre Trust Youth Company was founded in 1999 primarily to educate and provide opportunities for the younger tier of performers, ages 7 to 15. AUDITIONS for the two Majestic Youth Company summer programs are June 4 and July 9, from 6 to 8 PM. Ages 7 through 12 are asked to arrive at 6:00 and expect to stay as late as 7:30. Ages 13 through 17 should arrive at 7:30PM, and expect to stay as late as 9:00. No appointment is necessary. Come hear Seventy-six Trombones, Trouble in River City, and all your favorites from this musical by Meredith Willson. This production features artists of all ages. The musical, Blood Brothers has been running continuously in London for the past 11 years. Set in England and written by Willy Russell, this is the compelling story of class struggles, a mother's love for her children, and what happens when peoples' aspirations collide with society's barriers. Whatever the outcome, their heartache will touch something inside you and remain with you long after the curtain closes. Light Up the Loft - - - - - - - - - - - - The Acting Loft's annual cabaret and benefit show is scheduled for Saturday, June 24 from 6 PM to 10 PM. This event is structured as a Broadway cabaret, where the performers present highlights from the past season, and give previews of next season. The evening begins with food, beverages, and bidding on many silent auction items. After the two-act cabaret, the auction winners are announced. This was a rousing, funny, fast-paced production. All aspects were first-rate. The orchestra alone was more than worth the price of admission. Bravo to all! Kidz' Club is featuring a different performer the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The next show is Tuesday, June 13, 7 PM, when Mark Pinksten is presenting his Magic for Kids. Admission is free. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 3.2 Memorial Day Parade, Nashua +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There will be more than 76 trombones in the Memorial Day Parade in Nashua, on May 29. Come hear the many wonderful, award-winning area bands that participate in this annual parade. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 3.3 Nashua Arts and Humanities Coalition ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Nashua Arts and Humanities Coalition has a mission to increase awareness of the arts, to foster cooperation among area arts groups, and to promote the development of quality arts facilities. The coalition has the vision for an arts center in Nashua. Ideally, such a facility would house a symphony hall, a large theatre, a smaller, intimate theatre, a restaurant, a gift shop, a central ticket office, a children's museum, an art gallery, and an Imax theatre. You can help the community achieve this vision by supporting fund-raising events. You can get involved by calling Roxanne Turner at 880-7538. The coalition meets at 6PM the first Monday of each month at the Nashua Symphony office in the lower level of the ASF building, 14 Court Street, Nashua. The meetings are open to the public. ================================================ 4. Several of them have links to other arts' web sites. 4.2 You can sign up with the NH/MA Theatre Lovers list and/or the NH/MA Music Lovers. Many professional and community groups send announcements through this route. Each list has a monitor, who approves submitted announcements, then sends ONE ANNOUNCEMENT to all on the list.
