Come join the Peanut Gallery with Charlie, Lucy, Linus and his Blanket, Schroeder, Woodstock, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Sally, Pig Pen, Rerun, Violet, Frieda, and all your favorite Peanuts characters. Woof! Don't forget Snoopy! Performances are 7/27, 7/28, and 7/29, 7PM, at the Alvirne High School Gym, in Hudson NH. All tickets are $6. A talented corps of young people is bringing life to the beloved comic strip characters. Behind the greasepaint, you'll find: Noelle Andrick, Julianna Babb, Marianne Bradley, Josh Dennis, Nicholas DiClemente, Brynne-Ithaca Dizack, Abby Feinberg, Tim Gilpatrick, Sarah Houghton, Lori Kurtzman, Shari Kurtzman, Ryan LaMarca, Danielle Lussier, Jared Nathan, Mike O'Keefe, Bryan Richardson, and Emily Rondeau. About Lucy Van Pelt -- a little yellow birdie told us that when she is Lori and not Lucy, she sings like a nightingale instead of a magpie! Michael Roy, a recent graduate of Nashua High School, is directing this production. After he helps strike the set, Michael heads to southern California, where he joins The Young Americans. This talented young man is planning a career in music education. Good luck Mike! Crew have been energizing audiences this summer, in Concord NH, Goffstown NH, Marblehead MA, and Nashua NH. The songs in the summer program are primarily from Judy's fourth and latest CD -- Through the Eyes of a Kid. In August they travel to Portland ME for a Family Concert. In September they perform closer to home, at Old Home Day in Hollis NH. The Crew consists of young people between the ages of 12 and 17, representing several NH cities and towns. Babes in Toyland - - - - - - - - Jane and her friends will be taking you to the magic of Toyland, October 20 at 7 PM and October 21 at 1 PM. This production is using the Victor Herbert score of beloved songs. The location for this show is Salem High School. Little Women - - - - - - - - - - - Look for Little Women at the First Parish Congregational Church on East Derry Road in Derry. This delightfully optimistic show continues its successful run at Leddy Center for the Performing Arts, on Main Street in Epping, NH. Tickets are still available for Thursday July 27, Friday July 28, and Saturday July 29, all at 8 PM. This production is appropriate for ages 3 and up. Reservations are recommended. The Majestic Theatre Trust is having a splendiferous season, and it isn't over yet! Congratulations to all who participated in Majestic Night, Joseph, and Man of La Mancha. This editor spotted Terri O'Keefe, scenic designer, working with her team to dismantle sets after the final performance of each show. As soon as the area was clear, they started painting the background for the next production. (Ed.) Mother Goose - - - - - - - - - - - The enchanting story of Mother Goose, created and directed by A. Robert Dionne, is travelling to libraries throughout NH this summer. Children of all ages are enjoying this production, especially those between the ages of 5 and 13. Tickets are available only through participating libraries, and are not available from MTT. Jack and Jill and friends are magically appearing in Manchester, Hampton, Hampstead, Nashua, and Bedford. Contact your library for dates and ticket availability. Something's Afoot - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A musical mystery whodunnit is coming, August 3, 4, 5, 11, and 12, at 8 PM. In Something's Afoot, ten people are stranded in an isolated English country house during a raging thunderstorm. One by one they're picked off by cleverly fiendish devices. This musical will have you guessing whodunnit? Tickets are $9. Senior rate tickets for $6 are available for the August 3 performance. AUDITIONS are scheduled for August 6 and 13 from 6 to 8 PM, for The Sound of Music and The Honeymoon Cruise. All ages welcome. Those under age 15 must audition on 8/6 only. The Honeymoon Cruise is a non-musical, murder mystery. Call 644-8155 for audition information. Majestic Theatre Trust Youth Company - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Majestic Theatre Trust Youth Company was founded in 1999 to educate and provide opportunities for the younger tier of performers, ages 7 to 15. This Company is now in rehearsal for Steamboatin' -- the final production in this their second season. The choir will be on stage throughout the show. Call the Palace Box Office at 668-5588 to schedule an audition appointment. Please bring a resume and a head shot to your appointment. Be prepared with a short monologue and a song. Bring sheet music for the accompanist to play during your vocal audition. Production dates are September 22-23 & 29-30, 2000. Rehearsals begin September 6. The Palace Theatre is a professional company operating under guest equity contract. With rehearsals beginning September 6 and the first show September 22, applicants should plan for an aggressive rehearsal schedule. This program is created especially for audiences ages 3 to 10 years old. Tickets are $3, with a group rate of $2 for groups of 10 or more. They are presenting Pasta Music Please! two evenings only - Friday August 25 and Saturday August 26, at St. Stanislaus Hall on Pine Hill Road in Nashua. Dinner is at 6:30 and the show begins at 7:30. This is the first time the Junior Actorsingers have served up a dinner theatre. This is an event you won't want to miss! The program begins after dinner, and is suitable for all ages. The first act is a revue of favorite Disney tunes, with dazzling dance and song numbers. During intermission there will be musical interludes. The second act has a patriotic theme, with big band sounds in the style of Lawrence Welk. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children and seniors, and this includes dinner! Based on the novel by William Golding, a group of school children survive a shipwreck in the Pacific Ocean, and with no adults to shape their behavior, they develop their own society with its own rules. A consummate adventure story. The Prisoner (the musical) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Taking as its source the 1960s television series, The Prisoner is about a secret agent who quits his job, then finds himself hustled off to The Village: a strange limbo place where everyone has a number. This musical is directed and scored by Andy's artistic director, Bob Lawson. Gilligan's Island - - - - - - - - - - - - Scripted by Eric Weinberger, these are the characters who went for a three hour tour and wound up on a desert island. With Gilligan, the skipper too, the millionaire and his wife, the movie star and all the rest -- this is a comedy for all ages. Gilligan's Island is currently on tour throughout New Hampshire, with a grand finale at the playhouse on August 7 at 7:30. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2.11 Exit Stage Right, Groton, MA ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Congratulations to the cast and crew for a magnificent production of Once on This Island in July. Masterfully directed, the performances and music transported audiences to the French Antilles. Special praise is due to Samantha Ellis for her portrayal of Te Moune, and to the fantastic orchestra. (Ed.) Theatre-lovers in southern NH will want to know that Groton MA is an easy 20-minute drive from Nashua. The Groton-Dunstable Performing Arts Center is an air-conditioned, special needs accessible, plenty-of-free-parking, state-of-the-art theatre, in nearby Groton. Fall, 2000 Season - - - - - - - - - - - - - The House of Agatha Mysterie, at the United Church of Shirley, November. A Broadway Cabaret Evening, at the Groton-Dunstable Performing Arts Center, November. 3.
