About the show

THE PRODUCERS — a musical romp with Mel Brooks — is perhaps the funniest show the Actorsingers have ever presented. It's adapted from the classic 1968 film. This stage version won more TONY awards (twelve) than any other musical in Broadway history.

Some parents might find the show unsuitable for children as it contains some strong language, suggestive situations, and caricatures of many people (older women, Jews, gays, Nazis, accountants, theater people, and so on — "something to offend everyone" if a sense of humor be lacking). The MPAA rated the 2005 film PG-13 for sexual humor and references; this stage version is practically identical in content to that film, though one added utterance of "the F word" occurs on stage. There is comic threatened violence but essentially no actual violence.

For a full plot synopsis and more info about the stage version, see this article in Wikipedia.
